Miguel Moraes Cabral is a film director and a sound designer. He worked with several film directors as Pedro Costa, Sandro Aguilar, Sérgio Trefaut, Margarida Gil, Marie Losier. His first documentary “Jorge’s Paths” won a special mention in DocLisboa Film Festival and has been screened in international film festivals (Torino film festival, Krakow Film Festival, Camerimage, etc). Miguel Moraes Cabral was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talent Campus 2009. In 2016 he was artist-in-residence at Casa de Velázquez in Madrid.
Miguel Moraes Cabral é realizador e director de som. Trabalhou com vários realizadores nomeadamente Pedro Costa, Sandro Aguilar, Sérgio Trefaut, Margarida Gil, Marie Losier. A sua primeira longa-metragem Os caminhos de Jorge foi premiada com uma menção honrosa no festival Doclisboa 2013 e viajou pelos festivais internacionais e mostras de cinema (Festival de Turim na Itália, Krakow Film Festival, Camerimage etc). Miguel Moraes Cabral foi selecionado como jovem talento pelo prestigioso festival de Berlim (Talent campus 2009). Em 2016 foi artista residente na Casa de Velázquez em Madrid.

Beyond the Mountains is the story of a quest in unknown lands. The gaze at the other is fuelled by the imagination and by fragments of other gazes that have wandered the same space before. Can we only see what we observe? And do we observe nothing but what was already in our mind?
